Frequently asked questions

    • Avoid excessive sun exposure on the area for at least 2 weeks before and after your session.

    • Avoid sunless tanning creams and spray tans 2 weeks prior or until completely removed.

    • Avoid antibiotics and any other medications that will cause your skin to be photosensitive 2 weeks prior.

    • Avoid waxing, plucking, and using depilatory creams for at least 3 weeks prior.

    • No medicated topical creams or retinol on the area for at least 5 days prior.

    • The area must be shaved the day before your appointment.

    • Please remove any creams, perfumes, oils & makeup on the area to be treated before your appointment.

    • Wear SPF before and after your appointment to reduce the risk of hyperpigmentation.

    • Avoid exercising and excessive sweating for 24 hours post treatment or until irritation subsides

    • Avoid hot showers, baths, steam rooms and saunas for 24 hours post treatment or until irritation subsides.

    • No scrubs or any form of exfoliation for 7 days post treatment.

    • No waxing, plucking or epilating in between treatments

  • The number of sessions you’ll need depends on factors such as the individual’s genetic background, skin tone, hair color and area to be treated. Hormonal areas may require more sessions. Most people can expect to see a 75% to 95% reduction in hair growth after 6 sessions. Sessions are typically spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart, depending on the treatment area.

  • Although everyone has a different level of pain tolerance, we try to make the treatment as comfortable as possible. Our laser incorporates the Zimmer chiller device which blows out a nice cold air throughout the entire session. This allows for a more comfortable treatment. If you’d like to try it out beforehand we are happy to include a test patch during your complimentary consultation.

  • Absolutely! Our dual wavelength laser is safe and effective on all skin types. We use the Nd:YAG laser which is the safest for darker skin types.
